A simple mix of water, vinegar, salt, garlic, and the fiery red Hawaiian chili pepper that the islands are known for. We were blessed with having a version of a secret family recipe shared with us with some HI Spice embellishments added. It is ann aggressive mix of sweet, savory, and spicy!!

I grew up almost as far away from Hawaii as possible without leaving the states, so I have yet to experience true Hawaiian food. I trust whatever y’all make (even if some of it kicks my behind), so we decided to give this sauce a try with our latest order.

As I type this, we’re eating ramen, scallion pancakes, and pork dumplings. We’re experimenting with using the sauce straight from the bottle, mixing it with some soy sauce, mirin, and broth…all at various mixtures.

This stuff is great. I plan to find a recipe for a good SPAM dish to whip up tomorrow evening.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I definitely think this is going to be fantastic in pho.

Tastes just like the chili pepper water I used to eat growing up on Maui. We ate it mostly on saimin or rice. It’s delicious on stir fried vegetables too.

This sauce is just so good. I love using it on dumplings. A unique flavor with a perfect amount of heat!

SO good

For anyone who grew up using chili pepper water, this sauce takes it to another level. This has such a great flavor to add on top of rice, pancit and other noodles, and it pairs really well with crispy pork belly!! It has a kick that lingers a bit from the Hawaiian chili pepper; the vinegar and shoyu literally makes your mouth water, overall a fabulous sauce.
